![]() In response, we now offer the option of purchasing this battery pack together with a top-quality SLA compatible 24 volt 1.5 amp XLR charger from Qili Power, one of the very best brands of battery chargers available. Many of our customers have inquired about which battery charger we recommend for use with this battery pack. ![]() These "buttons" are the brass discs on the bottom of the battery box. Note: While earlier Currie battery packs used the blade-style contact terminals, this newer version used the round button-style. The "heart" of this eZip and IZIP battery pack consists of two EV rated SLA 12 volt, 10 Ah batteries in a black plastic case. This rack mounted plug and play (PnP) style electric bike battery pack has a 40 amp AGC glass fuse and is used on most Currie made e-bikes using the 24 volt, 10 Ah power system. One of our most perennially popular electric bike parts the 24 volt rack mount Battery Pack for Currie Electric Bikes is standard equipment on many eZip and IZIP bikes. ![]() If you are substituting this pack for your old Li-ion unit please order our With Charger option. You may use this Sealed Lead Acid (SLA) battery pack to replace the discontinued Li-ion pack but must use it with an SLA-rated battery charger. In this scenario, each battery pack would need to be recharged individually and in order to recharge both of them at the same time, two battery chargers would be needed.NOTE: Currie Technologies no longer offers a Lithium-ion (Li-ion) battery version of this battery pack. To use two separate 24 Volt battery packs that are made with different brands, Ah ratings, or ages of batteries they could be made into two separate 24 Volt battery packs and there could be a switch that switches between each battery pack, kind of like a truck that has two gas tanks. If a battery pack like this was made with two old batteries and two new batteries then the Voltages of the batteries could become unequalized during usage and recharging which would cause some of the batteries to be overcharged and some of the batteries to be undercharged which would lower the lifespan of the battery pack. ![]() If the new 24 Volt battery pack was made from four 12V 10Ah batteries then it would be a 24 Volt 20Ah battery pack and it would require a minimum battery charger size of 24 Volt 2 Amps and a maximum battery charger size of 24 Volts 6 Amps.Īlso, when making a battery pack wired in a series/parallel wiring configuration all of the batteries should be the same brand, Voltage, Ah rating, and age. With a 24 Volt battery pack wired in a series/parallel wiring configuration the original charger may or may not have enough output Amps to charge the new battery pack. Instead of wiring the four batteries in series to make a 48 Volt battery pack we recommend to wire them in a series/parallel wiring configuration as shown below to keep the battery pack 24 Volts. However, we do not recommend increasing the battery pack to 48 Volts because that would overvolt and most likely burn out the controller and motor. If you added two extra batteries in a series wiring configuration to make a 48 Volt battery pack then you would need to charge it with a 48 Volt battery charger. ![]()
